User Experience Design For Web-Based Applications: No matter how much time and labor your company invests in the design and development of its Web application, the true value comes when a user understands and engages with the experience they see before their eyes. The real action isn't taking place on the screen -- it's taking place in the minds of your users. A successful UX delivers a process, a flow, and visual communication that connects to the way your users think and make decisions.

User Testing and Usability Analysis: The best insights into the user experience emerge from direct interaction with real-world users. I've run nearly 100 Listening Labs: 6-12 users participate during one-on-one sessions in which they navigate a Web experience and think out loud about their decision-making process. The results are analyzed, distilled, and articulated in a Lab Findings debriefing session and report, which includes actionable, screen-by-screen recommendations to improve the user experience.

Information Architecture and Digital Strategy: A digital strategy provides the framework for successful information architecture by answering key questions: How do users think about the company's products? What are the drivers of their decision-making process? From there, we can create an information architecture that allows users to easily navigate your Web site or Web-based application. We can also help create an enterprise information architecture and for portal implementations.
Expert Usability Reviews:We offer an Expert User Experience and Usability review product that can help you align your team, identify opportunities usability and UX enhancements, provide design solutions, and set priorities. Ideation and Brainstorming Sessions: My backrground in technology, design, and marketing allows me to bring a cross-disciplinary perspective into the room and find shared ground between stakeholders. I use ideation techniques drawn from the fields of applied creativity, innovation, and collaborative design.. I use real-time mapping, visualization, and digital white-boarding tools (including mind-maps, card-sorts, and other strategies) to help bring great ideas to the surface where the team can best put them to use.
JAD Facilitation: Effective Joint Application Development sessions are a key component to effective prototyping for rapid application development and for generating specs and requirements for wireframes and business analysis. I have facilitated many JAD sessions and use a number of visualization methods including real-time mapping and wireframing (using a projector and a shared-display) to capture inputs and outputs in an integrated and actionable document.
Onsite Usability and User Experience Workshops: Drawing on my experience as a college educator, I offer onsite workshops on usability, user experience, information architecture and other subjects related to Web design and development. These workshops can help enhance the skills of your in-house team and help infuse your Web development efforts with a user-focused perspective.
